  5. DESCRIPTION
  6. This program allows you to send broadcast messages to other users
  7. on a Novell network while in Windows.  Includes a selection box
  8. for attached servers, a user selection box, a message box, and
  9. a message status box.  This program has been tested with Windows 3.0,
  10. Windows 3.1, Netware 2.x, and Netware 3.11.

  13. FILES REQUIRED
  14. This program uses the Novell Netware API for Visual Basic to gain
  15. access to network resources.  Compiled using Version 3.0 of VB, 
  16. the program requires the following files be included in the users'
  17. path:

  22. NWNETAPI.DLL    Novell Netware API for VB

  28. In the distribution package for Send Message 3.1 for Windows, the
  29. support files have been included, instead of requiring you download
  30. another support package file as in previous versions.  If you have
  31. a previous version of Send Message, you can use the same support
  32. files and simply replace the old version of MESSAGE.EXE.

  34. The actual program can be located in any shared directory:

  39. INSTALLATION
  40. To install the program, copy the DLL and VBX files to a shared 
  41. directory that is on the path of all users of the program.  Copy
  42. MESSAGE.EXE to a shared directory (it doesn't have to be on the
  43. user's path).

  45. To install the program in Windows 3.1:
  46. Go to the Windows Program Manager and select the program group
  47. where you want to install the message program, click File, New,
  48. Program Item, OK, Browse (change to the directory where
  49. MESSAGE.EXE is located), select the program, click OK, OK and
  50. you are done.  You might want to copy the icon to the Startup group
  51. so that it loads when Windows starts.
